Selamat Datang / Welcome to the Home Page of the Kuala Lumpur Mountain Bike Hash. KLMBH holds monthly Mountain Bike Hashes ("Bashes") in the Klang Valley area, usually on the last Sunday of each month.

You are welcome to join us on our forays into the countryside around KL. Turn up at the designated Bash site and pay just RM 15 to ride with us if you are not already a member. If you are a member, it's FOC.

Membership

If you wish to join as a member, bring along RM70 (actually one RM50 note and two RM10, you get the idea) at the next Bash location, fill in a form at the Bash registration counter and you're in for one year! Member's fee for Juniors under 18 is just RM50.

Alternatively, you can head to the Membership Registration Page and proceed with your online registration right now !

Or, if you are not sure whether you want to become a member? Easy; give it a try by riding as a guest while paying a guest fee of RM15. If after the ride you decide that the Bash is the bees' knees, the most fun you have had with your clothes on and you're craving for more, then you can join as a member by paying the difference. Of course, this is same-day valid only.

Bash Basics

In general terms, the purpose of a Bike Hash is to provide an unguided social ride that can be enjoyed by both new and experienced riders, even in unfamiliar terrain. Weeks or months in advance of a Hash an area will be explored by a small group of riders called “Hares” who are responsible for setting the hash. They will plot out two trails, the “Long Ride” (longer and more challenging), and the “Scenic Ride” (shorter and easier), and mark them with paper, flour, signage and other methods, leaving gaps called “Checks” at intervals to provide a challenge for the hashers and keep the pack together. These gaps in the trail markings force the faster riders to explore in order to find where the trail resumes. The lead riders are expected to find where the trail resumes and use extra paper to fill in these gaps so that slower riders can thus follow a complete trail. In this way riders of vastly different fitness and ability can share the same ride and still have an enjoyable time.

Refreshments After A Bash

Please take note that refreshments are sold after the Bash at reasonable price; just look for the cooler boxes manned by the Bash Piss or Ass Piss. All proceeds goes into KLMBH coffers, so listen to your body's need for hydration and grab a cool drink from KLMBH!

Share your favourite riding areas with the rest of the club by being a hare this year or the next. Without Hares we cannot organise a bash. Even if you have never set a Bash, but think you would like to, we have people who can guide you in planning a Bash.

It really is as much fun organising, as it is to ride.
